Emilye Mobley

Ms. Mobley is responsible for all non-academic programs including admissions, residence life, student activities, health services, athletics, counseling and college placement.
Prior to coming to GSSM, Ms. Mobley worked throughout the Southeast serving small colleges. Her professional positions have included vice president for student affairs at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC; dean of students at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC; and director of residential life at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.  For the last two years, she has served as an educational consultant while completing her doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Her consulting work focuses in student affairs and staff development.  Her research interests include character development, civility, and organizational behavior and culture.

Ms. Mobley holds a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from UNC Greensboro and a bachelor’s degree in education from UNC Chapel Hill.  She also completed the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University and participated in the Oxford Roundtable in Oxford, England.

Her commitment to educate through the co-curricular and experiential is fueled by her desire to assist students in their holistic development.  She views her work as a calling versus a career and believes in educating by example as well as through the numerous vehicles of learning.

Ms. Mobley is excited about joining the GSSM family and looks forward to exploring, discovering, and growing along with our students and the school.
