The Wave is a grassroots PR campaign designed to build awareness, energy and momentum around the study of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the Palmetto State.
The icon for this campaign is a flag that can wave proudly at businesses, schools and even on your Facebook page. It will brand STEM in South Carolina.
"The Governor's School for Science and Math has been waving the flag for STEM education since the school's inception in 1988. We're proud to lead the movement for improvement when it comes to preparing the brightest young minds for leadership careers in science, technology, engineering and math. We look forward to rolling out this campaign and to inspiring other educational institutions and supporters across the state to do the wave."
Dr. Murray Brockman
President, GSSM
We want every citizen in South Carolina to embrace science and math with a commitment to improvement. We want our young people to out-innovate, out-educate and out-perform those of other states and nations. We want to train our teachers; to arm them with the skills necessary to develop the next generation of innovators. We want to bridge the achievement gap for our low achievers, provide game-changing opportunities to our high achievers and build a stronger workforce, ultimately impacting economic development.
